Sent with Love...

This month's Crafters Companion is Tags, Boxes and Bags! Head on over to Facebook for all the details and enter!  I created this Humphrey tag for the challenge and today I'm going to share how to create the fun background I used on it.

It is super easy and fun! All you need is a stamp, pigment inks and a spray bottle.

Ink up your stamp well with pigment ink. I used Electric Pink and Electric Purple Radiant Neon inks. I inked it first with Electric Pink and then added dots of Electric Purple randomly. You will get a bit of contamination from the first color on your stamp pad, but I just wiped it off on scrap paper.

Now spritz it with water.

Next apply the stamp to the paper and allow it to sit for a few seconds. I usually give it about 5 seconds. This allows the water to soak in to the paper. The result...a soft, colorful watercolor effect. You can see on my paper, the area the right that had more water on the stamp created a more watercolor effect. The area to the left had less water and gave a crisper image. Play around with the amount of water to find the effect you love best.
