creativity from scraps

This weekend was the deadline for the CreativeXpress DT call. Needing a bit of a creative boost and a break from worrying about my entry, I turned to stamping. There is something about stamping that just has a calming effect. The following two cards were made with mostly scraps off the top of my desk.

For the card, I stamped the large flower from the Jolies Fleurs Lizzie Anne Designs set. I then went back with a white gell pen and added the white dots. The frame around the Making Memories sticker is not a Nestabilities shape, but instead 4 scallop strips cut from the Babyface cuttlebug font. I simply put them corner to corner to create a frame. The teeny tiny butterfly was a stamped image that I cut out.

This next card came about as I was pushing around some of the extra pieces of the Cuttlebug scallop strips. I thought they would look really cool as a background for a card, so after cutting a few more colors this is what I came up with. That butterfly is just another stamped image that I cut out and ran through the Swiss Dots folder.

Its about time for another cup of coffee and time to get moving on those Monday chores. Good luck to all the CX entrants!
