Living close to Philly, everything is about the Phillies right now in the World Series. My boys have been following the games a bit and are getting into the excitement. I created this wall hanging for their room out of an old gift card box. It measures 6 inches by 6 inches and because it is only paper, it is super light. DH should be happy that it won't break down the plaster walls, lol!
The idea for this came as I was playing with my new Molly Stamps the other day. I have a tin of googly eyes on my desk that I was adding to all the images. Its funny I was never a fan of googly eyes as a kid, but I just think they're the cutest embellishment now. As soon as I added one to this face in the Todays Forecast set it looked just like a baseball being hit out of the ballpark. I added a bit of red and black stitching and suddenly it was a baseball. I printed out the Phillies logo in mirror image, adhered it to the back of red cardstock and used it as a template to cut out the logo. I printed out the "lets go" and added a border with pens and watercolors. When using the box, I actually liked the way the lid created a bit of detail around the edge, so I used the backside of the box to mount my project on. Punch a hole in the back, add your artwork, tie on a bow and instant local wall art. Eagles mania is starting up soon. Just might have to make some more team boxes for the boys walls.
supplies used:
stamps: Molly Stamps Todays Forecast
other: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, ribbon, watercolors
Enjoy the weekend!

you're killing me! I'm cheering LOUDLY for the Rays and I still am forced to put this card on the shout out list. What a great job! I never saw the baseball in this set until you created it. Sister, you ROCK!
Oh my word! I'm not into the Phillies ... but if I were, I would be begging for this on my wall! It's fabulous!!
OMGosh girl! This is AWESOME!!! I totally love it!
Hey Wendy, this is a great idea! I am impressed with that Phillies logo! I don't have any boys, so I think I will just gaze at it on your blog, though. DH & I are just suffering through until this game finishes.....agonizing wait!
