Ok, so I changed those lyrics up a bit, but today I am sharing with you a house that I build using Lizzie Anne stamps. I designed this project for a colored pencil tutorial for Lizzie Anne Designs June newsletter. Did you all sign up for their newsletters yet? Head on over and subscribe to see how I used colored pencils and baby oil to color the images. I thought I'd share how I created the 3D effect with the stamps on my blog today.

To create this home, sweet home frame I pulled out my Welcome Home set by Lizzie Anne Designs.

• Stamp the large house 2 times on white cardstock.
• Color in the house and then cut them out. One will be the front and the other will be cut to create sides.
• Using an exacto, cut the gable on two sides, score across the bottom of the roof and bend down.
• Holding the extra house up to the side of the front piece, mark off how deep you need it and cut. You will also have to mark the angle of the roof and cut that too. *
• Cut a piece of cardstock to complete the window on the roof
• I used double thickness of window** insulating foam to both support the sides/roof and be able to ensure the piece would remain 3D.
• Adhere 3D house to the frame and embellish with additional stamped images...trees, teeny tiny picket fence, etc.

*I can tell you I hate measuring and just kinda eyeballed it. I kept taking slivers off the sides until it looked about right. My carpenter husband of course noticed that its not plumb or whatever it was he called it.

**you can find this in your home improvement store (or maybe even in the back of your DH's work truck...wink) Its super smushy but only adhesive on one side. You can smush it almost flat and then it will eventually pop back up. Kinda cool if you want to mail cards with 3D elements, but want them to mail flatter than pop dots.
