first (and last) fish

This weeks Cornish Heritage Farms Summer Design Challenge was a tough but fun challenge....RESIST. I pulled out the Plaid Scrapblocks stamp and decided to try creating some pattern paper with it. I stamped in Versamark, embossed in clear and then added a wash of teal Tattered Angels and green watercolors.

supplies used:
stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms (Perfect Plaid Scrapblock & Mocha Chica)
tag: Scenic Route
cardstock: Prism
stickers: Doodlebug, Making Memories

I found my inspiration for the color combo from a challenge over at DixiePieces. They're going to be having a huge end of summer contest starting up in August, but its not too soon to start playing some games and earning some points. Looking for something fun to get you scrapping, pop on over and say "hi".

I love these photos of my son. A few months ago we picked up some cheapie rods, thinking it might be something fun to do with the kids, specifically our oldest. Well, he hates fishing. I know this because he tells me every single time we mention going. Thinking maybe it was because he hadn't caught anything yet, we set him up with a rod on a day when the sunnies were biting like crazy. He throws the line in and catches a pumpkinseed within a minute of it hitting the water. Did that change his mind? NOPE! His expression in that 2nd photo says it all...." I'm SO done with this". He is much happier hiking the trails and exploring the woods with me.

And our youngest? Yeah well, he lives for fishing. Expect some fishing layouts with him soon. (wink)
