Today is mid December and that means its time for a new Monthly Mix from Lizzie Anne Designs. This months mix is called From the Heart. Lots of great valentine images in there to get you ready for Valentines Day.
Today I'm sharing two cards both made with the same stamp, but completely different styles. This flower photo stamp is a fun one and one that I'm hoping to see more of from Lizzie Anne.
For the first card I took some pink/red inks and smooshed them on a craft sheet. Yes, that is the technical name for it...smoosh. Next I spritzed a fine mist of water on the sheet so beads of color formed. Take your watercolor paper and swipe it through the beads of colors. You can keep doing this until you get a color pattern you love. I finished it off with a bit of glitz from Rose Tattered Angels spray. After it was dry I inked up my stamp in Archival and stamped it. For the cardbase I stamped one of the sentiments repeatedly and clear embossed.
This next card has a completely different look, much more subtle. To create the cardbase I laid down some dry wall mesh over it. You can use Magic Mesh if you have it. Using a sponge I sponged Distress ink over the mesh. When I peeled it off it left a nice distressed grid effect. Using Crayola washable markers I colored the stamp surface with a few different blues. To reactivate the moisture in the ink, huff on the stamp.

OH GORGEOUS!!!! Love these Wendy! I still need to get these stamps inked ~ maybe today (kind of forgot that it's the 15th ~ YIKES!)
Wow! Amazing, they really do look so different Wendy, thanks for sharing the techniques you used!
awesome. love what you did. i hope to see more also. glad you like it.
Beautiful examples of how one stamp image can be used very differently! I esp. love the techniques used for your first one, although they are both great :) Love the clear embossing of the script stamping on the black backround... very sophisticated look!
Wow! One stamp and two different looks! Love these cards!
Both are so striking!
It is really intriguing to how different these two cards are even though they use the same stamp! Love them both...I would be hard-pressed to have to pick a favorite!
What sweet creations. Isn't it interesting how different they look just stamped in different colors?
They're both so gorgeous!! Wow!!
