The Lightening Thief...

I used to LOVE to read growing up and then at some point, probably around college, it became more of a chore. Every now and then I find a great book. You know the kind where you don't want it to ever end. A little over a year ago, looking for something-anything to capture my sons interest, I found the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series by Rick Riordan. We got the first book from the library and started reading it that night. Only a few pages in and I was hooked. I stayed up well after he was asleep, reading from it. This series is great! It takes you through the adventures of one boy as he discovers he is a demigod and how he struggles with that discovery. The books are a great introduction to Greek Mythology for young readers. Adventure. Drama. Heroes. Villains. Romance. These books have it all. Even my picky reader enjoyed it!

You might wonder why I'm suggesting young adult reading material? Well...the movie is coming out! I'm not usually one to get excited about movies, but both my son and I are excited to go see The Lightening Thief. I just hope they don't stray too far from the books. I've read the first 4 books, so in order to jog my memory of what happened in the 1st book I'm re-reading it. I'm finally getting to the point of this post. LOL! Using the new Lizzie Anne Designs Feb Mix (Singing in the Rain) set I stamped a bookmark for the book.

I stamped the photo stamp in Archival Black and then inked the edges in blue. I chalked yellow and green in the center/bottom of the square. Next I cut out the sentiment from the photo stamp, inked the edges and glued it on. I inked the entire piece in Versa-mark and embossed it with UTEE. The UTEE in only one layer gives a cool pebble appearance.
