Stampendous Challenge Week 14- STMC14

Its time for another Stampendous sketch! This weeks sketch was drawn by the fabulous Pam Hornshu. The twist is that it has to have a window cut out of it. You can see that the sketch (scroll down) has a horizontal transparent panel. Boy did I struggle with how to incorporate that into the card. Instead of having it completely cover the card I opted to have it just fall inside my window.

The fishbowl was cut away using the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge. This is quickly becoming one of my favorite cartridges! So many cute images on it to cut out! I cut a piece of clear blue transparency from Magic Scraps (I'm not sure they're still in business). Super easy way to create the waves.... 1 inch circle punch.

The fish is from a Clear set SSC1077 (need to find out the name for ya). The sentiments are from Festive Fluffles ("just droppin in to say") and SSC266 ("luv ya"). And although the sentiments might seem kinda odd with the image, its perfect for my son. Remember the fishing obssessed 7 yr old? Well he's going on a trip with DH overnight and I thought he might like to find the card tucked into his travel bag.

I found a new challenge the other day when I was blog hopping....Off the Wall Craftiness. This week's colors are SO me. Love orange and teal! I used them in my fishie card up above. Here is a photo of the inspiration piece.

And finally I'll leave you with another sample that I made for Stampendous upcoming catalog. It used CRN199 Cling Santa Trio and AC1007 Jumbo Merry Class A'Peel Stickers. I colored the images in with colored pencils and cut them out. Aren't those stickers great! I'm a sucker for mixed fonts. They're the perfect way to add a sentiment to any card.

So thankful for the opportunity to work with Stampendous for their catalog! I have a bunch more cards to share in the coming week!

Wow! Very, very cool fish card. Glad you found Kim's site- never even thought about fish for tangerine (duh). Glad you liked my card-- but check out Courtney's sketch and you'll see where I got the inspiration for the card (it wasn't an original thought- might as well give credit where credit is due).
