*whew* We survived the first week back to school!!! Actually its not over yet because we still have our first soccer game of the season this morning. Of course did my son check his cleats over the summer to make sure they still fit...no! So 8 pm last night we're fighting the crowds trying to find cleats in his size, LOL! He's fitting in mens size shoes now! How in the world did that happen? sniff sniff
OK, I'll stop babbling and get onto the challenge! Its my turn to come up with this weeks Stampendous Challenge. Since its really beginning to feel like fall here I went with a color challenge inspired by FALL!
Wish we had some of those pretty fall colors though. Its been so dry here that everything is just burning up and turning brown. Here is my fall inspired card...
Stampendous stamp:CRM254 Cling Thankful Leaves
Stampendous Embossing powders: EP Chinese Red, EP502 Paperika, EP503 Honey, EP504 Nutmeg, EP501 Olive, EP512 Lettuce
To create the strip of color behind the bow, I used the painting with embossing technique. I cut a piece of yellow cardstock down and inked it up really well with Versamark. Next starting at the bottom and working my way up I spooned on rows of embossing powder. Be sure to tap off the extra before moving onto the next color. I turned my paper some as so instead of straight horizontal lines I achieved hills of color. There is no right or wrong with this technique. Give it a try its really FUN!
Want to play along! All the details can be found at the Stampendous Blog. Be sure to link up your card at the Stampendous Blog to be in the running for a prize!
