Skipping Stones Designs

Welcome back for another Skipping Stones Design sketch challenge! Be sure to head on over and check out the awesome projects that the design team and guests have for you this week!

supplies: stamps (Skipping Stones Designs Heartsong) ink (Colorbox Harbor, Mint, and Lime pigment, Ranger Archival Jet black and Peeled Paint Distress Ink, Stampin Up Old Olive dye ink, embossing ink), Maya Road pin, Stampendous Deep Impressions embossing powder

I had a lot of fun playing around with techniques on this card. To create the music score for the background, I inked the stamp up with 3 different colors pigment inks.

Give it a little spritz with water and stamp. You don't usually think to spritz pigment inks with water, but it gives a pretty soft blend to the colors.

Next I took my acrylic stamp mount and inked it up with Colorbox Pigment inks and a bit of Peeled Paint Distress Ink and SU dye ink. I spritzed that with water and stamped it onto my cardstock. The dye and pigment inks must have reacted because I got the coolest mottled look. Although this wasn't the blended look I was originallly going for it would create the perfect foliage effect in the background.

While it was still damp, I dumped some Deep Impressions embossing powder on, shaking off the extra. If your paper is not still wet, you can use Embossing Ink. Heat to melt. Continue to build up the layers of embossing enamel till you have a thick coat. While the EP is still molten, press an inked stamp into the EP. After it cools, crack the embossing enamel to distress.

If you play along with the sketch this week be sure to link up your card at the Skipping Stones Design Blog!

I am entering this in the following challenges:
Paper Pretties- embossing
Paper Sundaes- anything goes
