Stampendous & EnviroTex Blog Hop

We're playing along all week with Carmi Cimiata over at the Resin Crafts Blog playing with EnviroTex Craft Resin. I've never worked with resin before and was a bit nervous but once I had a peek at what Carmi had done with resin I couldn't wait to give it a go! Her projects are so fun we just had to get some stamps in her hands, and the folks at Environmental Technologies were kind enough to share with us their terrific products! Add in the wonderful micas, glitters, etc in the Fran•táge Essentials Collection, plus our images, just perfect for jewelry and home decor, even the most timid crafter will fall in love with these projects.

supplies used: Stampendous Elegant Borders, EnviroTex Craft Resin, Tsukineko Memento ink, Copics, DIY Bangles, tissue paper

For my first resin project, I stamped one of the borders in Elegant Borders on tissue paper in Tsukineko Memento Ink. I added a rainbow of color with copics. Next I mixed up some resin and poured it into one of the wells in a watercolor palette. When I had the resin almost to the surface, I laid the tissue paper down and covered it the rest of the way with resin.

To create a setting for the resin, I hammered a bottlecap flat and inked it up with StazOn.

Normally you would breathe hot air on the resin at the 20 min mark to get the bubbles out. I forgot, but I'm calling it a happy mistake. I kinda like the look of the bubbles.

For this next project, I stamped on tissue paper again. (One thing to note, when adding paper or tissue paper to your resin pieces, you want to give it a coat of mod podge first. ) I followed the same steps as the previous project using a different shaped watercolor palette as a mold. When it was cured, I punched a hole in it and added it to a hemp necklace. If you look closely you may see a glimpse of a soon to be released Stampendous Jumbo in the background.

We've got a LOT of amazing projects today. Visit these blogs, leave a sweet coment! Come back tomorrow! Win cool stuff! Be sure to plan to spend Saturday with us, too, as all our designers show you MORE projects with this cool product.

Wendy Price <---you are here :)

Yippee for Prizes!! Carmi has 3 prize packages that can be won by our fans in Canada! She will draw three Canadian winners from the comments on her blog all week. We have 3 prize packages for our friends with US mailing addresses.
  • We'll draw one winner from the weekly comments on our blog.
  • We'll draw one winner from the comments on Saturday's Big Blog Hop
  • We'll draw one winner from Facebook - You need to SHARE one or more of our posts about this project on your Timeline **
Each prize package from us will include a Jewelry pack of Resin, a bottle cap, bezel and button to try, and the Stampendous Charm Collection Perfectly Clear Stamps - perfect jewelry sized stamps for your crafting pleasure! ** Why do I need to SHARE the post ? Because Facebook has changed the way they show posts from a Page to that Page's fans. (There are millions of posts a day now!) When you "share" a post it lets Facebook know you want to see posts from us. It also tells your friends what we're up to and extends our "reach". Maybe they will come like us, too! That IS why we're doing this, to meet more people! How do I SHARE a post? Visit our page on Facebook - Stampendous - We'll keep an EnviroTex post pinned at the top this week - just find it and click on SHARE underneath the post, it's blue. It will pop up a window that says Share On Your Own Timeline. You can write a message in the box if you like then click Share This Link. That's it...easy!!

Nice. I have always been a sucker for tiny landscapes. Takes me back to the 20's when these were how art was spreading.

Wendy, your creativity never ceases to amaze me. That necklace project is SO lovely. And with your clear instructions I feel I could actually create something using resin! Thanks so much for sharing with us!

Wendy, words cannot describe how fabulous these two pieces are. Both are stunning. Oh, how I wish I had an ounce of your creativity. Have you ever thought about opening a jewelry store? I would be a frequent shopper.

Wendy, these projects are fantastic! Absolutely love (as always) what you've done with the resin over tissue look! Wonder if just pouring a thin layer of resin over tissue on a silicone mat would result in a finished thing easy to punch and cool enough to layer... ooh...

Love the jewelry. It's been so nice seeing how everyone has done something a little different with the resin. I can't wait to try this.

Wendy, these are beautiful and I am fond of the bubbles, too! I would love to have the bangle in a ring size. Wouldn't that look cool? I would wear the necklace on any summer day. Great job!!
