Stampendous and Dreamweavers Floral

Today I'm back with two cards for Stampendous and Dreamweaver week! This first card uses Stampendous Lovely Garden Jumbo, Loving Messages and Dreamweavers LJ801 Splat stencils.

I stamped the large flower image on white cardstock, masked it off and then laid the stencil down and began adding color. I continued to move the stencil around adding Dusty Concord Distress Ink to the card. When I was happy with the amount of color in the background, I took off the mask and colored in my flower.

This next uses the face from Stampendous  Blossom Beauty Jumbo set and Dreamweavers LJ 916 Butterfly stencil. The inspiration for this card came from Lea's fabulous idea to use the head stamp as a breast cancer survivor project. (You can catch a peek at Lea's project along with other amazing projects from the DT using Blossom Beauty in the new Stampendous Catalog.)

To create the face, I stamped the image on Shrink Plastic in StazOn. I used a Sharpie to sketch in the top portion of her head. I colored the back of the head in, cut it out and shrunk it.

I placed the butterfly stencil over a cardbase, so the top of the butterfly falls on the crease of the card. Trace the butterfly and cut it out. I laid the stencil back down and inked it with Picked Rasberry and Dusty Concord Distress Inks. All that was left to do was adhere a ribbon and the face.

Now its time to HOP! Be sure to hop on over to all the blogs and leave some love for a chance to win one of three fabulous prizes!

Love both cards! I didn't really look at the splat stencil until today and it has more potential than I thought it did. Now the shrunken head... It's great for beast cancer awareness!

Love your idea with the butterfly. And I agree, didn't really think much of the splat stencil until now. It is always so helpful to see samples done, changes your whole perspective of a stencil.
