Today I'm sharing a tutorial for creating masks with Diecuts. I'm using one of my favorite Crafters Companion Die'sire Essentials Dies...Stars!
Directions:
Step 1: Ink cardstock with Distress Inks to create background.
Step 2: Diecut shapes from adhesive shelf paper. I've found Contact paper at my Dollar Tree. Its not overly sticky, so its perfect for this techique. Carefully remove the pieces and set aside. With care, it is possible to use the positive and negative diecut pieces as masks.
Step 3: Place diecut pieces on inked cardstock and apply a contrasting color of ink.
Step 4: If the shelf paper is not too sticky, remove the diecut shelf liner pieces from background. If the shelf liner paper is stuck firmly to the background then buff the extra ink off the diecut pieces. The shelf liner diecut paper pieces will add a bit of shine to the project.
To achieve the speckled look, I flicked water on the inked paper and blotted with a paper towel.
