Etched Glass Using Crafter’s Companion Die Cuts

Today I'm sharing a tutorial for Crafters Companion on glass etching using die cuts!

Crafter’s Companion US Supplies:

Other Supplies:
Vase (Dollar Tree), Contact paper or vinyl, Etching Creme, gloves

Step 1- Using either contact paper or vinyl, die cut what you would like to etch. Keep in mind the curve of the object you’re etching. Larger pieces of contact paper will pucker going around curves and etching cream will seep under.

Step 2- After washing and drying your glass very well, begin placing the negative part of design cut from contact paper/vinyl down on the glass. Burnish the edges well to be sure there is no spots for etching cream to seep under.

Step3- While working with proper safety precautions (ie:gloves/ventilation) paint etching cream on glass. Be careful with amounts. If it is too thick it will drip.

Step 4- Allow etching cream to sit for the time noted on the bottle. When the time is up, wash the etching cream off. Be sure to use caution when washing the etching cream off.

Ideas to note: Create customized etched designs using the new Crafter’s Companion Classiques Alphabet and Numbers Dies. Wouldn't it be fun to find some glass containers and label them for scrapbooking supplies?! These also make awesome end of the year teachers gifts customized with the school or teachers name!
