Sweet...

Today's layout features Clear Scrap and Crafters Companion! I used a Clear Scrap blank 12 x 12 acrylic sheet and woven pattern paper strips to create a faux lattice effect. 

To create the lattice effect, simply weave 1/2 inch strips of 18 inch pattern paper or cardstock.  When you are finished, trim and adhere the ends to the acrylic layout. Now take 1/8 inch strips of pattern paper or cardstock and frame the edge of the layout. 

I colored the acrylic Pennant embellishment with an alcohol marker. To create the distressed look, I put a bit of alcohol down on my craft mat, dabbed a piece of burlap into the alcohol and then placed it on the colored pennant for approximately 5 seconds. The alcohol with lift the color on the pennant. I painted white acrylic paint on the back of the pennants to make the coloring pop. 

I used the same technique to create a distressed look on the die cut.
