Your Next Stamp June Release....

I have had so much fun playing along with the Your Next Stamp team for the June release! For today's project I decided to create a nature theme travelers notebook spread using just the mushroom from the Oh Shiitake stamp set.

I masked the mushroom and stamped it repeatedly with Glacier dye ink. Next I colored the mushrooms in with the same ink watered down. I added a bit of splatters to the mushrooms.

Supplies Used: Your Next Stamp (Oh Shiitake stamp and die set), Crate paper Sunkissed pattern paper, Crate paper Sunny Days camera sticker, One Canoe Two Adventure sticker, Close to My Heart Glacier ink

Your Next Stamp Blog hop...

I am so excited to be playing along with Your Next Stamp for the June Release! The Card Buddies stamp and die set is too CUTE!!! I used it on a layout of our pup, Flea's first birthday. The stamps come with an assortment of hats, collars and items to create a personalized card for any holiday!

I started by stamping lots and lots and LOTS of the Card Buddies critters, die cutting and coloring with markers. I layered them along the bottom third of my layout.

To create the banner, I used YNS Bold Alphabet dies. I cut the letters out of foam and adhered them to circles. I bent the top of the circle over and adhered it to twine.

That scallop piece on the bottom of the layout is from YNS Scallop Edge Die. This is one of my favorite border dies. It creates that perfect touch on layouts or cards.

Playing with Cut Files....

I finished up two more layouts for Paper Smooches Heart Challenge. In the first layout I filled a cut file from Paige Evans Taylor with lots and LOTS of die cut circles, dots, and hearts. I used the heart from Paper Smooches Pawprint die. The circles are from Paper Smooches Ocean Scene die set. The X is from Paper Smooches Stitched Border die set.

The sentiment is cut from a Paige Evans project life card and describes Flea perfectly. This little cutie is turning 1 this week!

This next layout uses a cut file from Virginia Walker (Confessions Of a Paper Addict Facebook Group). I backed the cut file with strips of paper cut using the Paper Smooches Borders 1 Die set. Such a fun way to used up scraps of cardstock and pattern paper.

I embellished it with images stamped from the Paper Smooches Surf and Turf set. The gold hearts and alphas are from Maggie Holmes. The sentiment embellishments are cut from Paige Evans Pick Me Up 6 x 6 paper.

Ugly Sweater....

This week I'm playing along with Stampendous for an Ugly Sweater Contest using the Cool Penguin Clear Stamp set and dies. Check out all the samples on the Stampendous Blog, and be sure to leave nice comments. At the end of this week you can vote for your favorite! Stampendous will draw three lucky winners with U.S. Mailing Addresses from those voting to win the Cool Penguin set. And the designer with the most votes will get $50 to spend on Stampendous Product!!

Now onto my layout! I remembered I had a photo of my son from last year wearing his "ugly" sweater for work at McDonalds. With a bit of masking... ok, a LOT of masking I created the penguin pattern paper. I colored it in with colored pencils. One two of the sweaters I added a "M" for McDonalds.

Supplies Used: Stampendous Cool Penguin Clear Stamps and die, Echo Park alphabet(green), EK Success alphabet (gold), Doodlebug pattern paper (circles), washi tape, colored pencils

31 Days of Halloween...Day 15

Welcome back for Day 15 of the 31 Days of Halloween with Stampendous! Today I'm sharing a layout I created using the Spider Fear stamp set and Build a Wreath Die set.

This photo is of our front window that my husband decorated out of posterboard in our old house almost 20 years ago. I'm glad to finally get these photos scrapped!
I used the Build a Wreath Die set to create a Halloween theme wreath. Love how versatile this die set is!!

Supplies Used: Stampendous Spider Fear Clear Stamps, Poe Poetry Cling Stamp, Build a Wreath Die Set, Black Glitter, Distress Ink, Distress Oxide Ink, SEI Halloween papers, Graphic 45 pattern paper

31 Days of Halloween... Day 8

I'm playing along today with Stampendous 31 Days of Halloween! Each day Stampendous will be sharing Halloween projects with items from the July Catalog.  Leave a comment on all the blogs to be entered multiple times.

I masked the pumpkins from the Stampendous Halloween Hat Cling Stamp and Die set. I trimmed around the stamped images and popped them up on a Distress Ink background.

Looking for a simple idea non-edible Halloween treat? Bookmarks! These would be great for Halloween class party treat ideas.  I masked this image repeatedly so it took a bit of time, but you could keep it simple with single stamped images. Leave it uncolored so the kids can color it in themselves.

you otter know....

Today I'm playing along with Poppy Stamps August Challenge...Make a Splash. I used the Christmas Friends stamp set in a bit of a different way for this love you card.

To create the waves, I masked off the cardfront with painters tape. Next using a DIY stencil I created from various scallop dies I inked up the front in blue and green distress inks. I stamped the otters and hearts on vellum with Versamark and embossed with Wintergreen embossing powder. I die cut the Alpha Letters and Heart from both fun foam and cardstock. I adhered the cardstock over the foam and adhered the sentiment to my card. Next I stamped the "you otter know" above the sentiment.

Supplies Used: Poppy Stamps Christmas Friends, Your Next Stamp Bold Alpha dies, Crafters Companion Heart Dies, Distress Ink, Stampendous Wintergreen Embossing Powder, vellum, foam

Friends warm our hearts...

I wanted a frosted effect for this card so I stamped the birch trees on a Distress Ink background. Next I sanded a piece of acetate on both sides. This gives it a frosted look but still allows you to see the trees behind it. I tried vellum first but my vellum is too opaque. Next I adhered the acetate behind the main frame/image and adhered them to the card.

Supplies used: Stampendous Birch Buddies, Snow Globe Kiddo, Holiday Expressions, white embossing powder, acetate), Tsukineko Memento, Versamark, Copics
