Lizzie Anne blog candy & POTM...

Welcome March! I always love March. The weather is starting to break, Crocus are starting to pop out of the soil. I become a year older. Ok, well thats not so great, but I do love the excuse to treat myself to some new stamping toys during the month, lol! This month was also my first time to participate in Lizzie Anne Designs Project of the Month. woo hoo!

Since I was already working with the School Days set last month, I decided to create a desk set for my oldest son with the stamps. Complete instructions, along with some more awesome projects by the DT check out the Lizzie Anne POTM.

Here's a closeup of the way the book closure works and also his pen/pencil holder. The notebook was actually one from a Friendly's kids meal and the pen holder from a can of soup.

Here is a closeup of the bookmark that I made for him out of shrink plastic. If you haven't played with shrink plastic since your childhood days, dig it out and give it a go. Fun stuff! For my sons Christmas class party, I needed to come up with a quick, but not too young craft for 20+ 9 year olds to make. I ended up cutting out lots of circles from shrink plastic, punching the holes, and then bringing a selection of holiday themed stamps in for them to choice from. I wasn't sure how they would like the idea, but it seemed to be a hit. I brought my heat gun in and shrunk them in the classroom. 30 years later and I still like watching the plastic curl and shrink as much as I did when I was young.

I totally love what you did by altering the notebook and the can of soup. Very cute, Wendy! I have shrink plastic and I forget to play with it.

It's funny how we were looking at each other's blogs at the same time.
