Saturdays adventures...

Sometimes the best family adventures are those when you break your plans and just see where the day takes you. We were supposed to head out to a parade today, but had two kids who decided they no longer liked parades. So we headed off towards the shore, checked out some cute stores, scoped out real estate, walked around the woods for a bit, tried out some fishing spots, enjoyed cherry cokes from Sonics and just simply enjoyed getting away from the hustle and bustle of the holiday traffic here.

Today's card is one that I did for Pat's Saturday Night Challenge over at Southern Breezes. I've been so busy between sick kids and design team commitments that I haven't really sat down and stamped for myself in awhile. It felt great to just sit and play around with techniques. The challenge from last week was 2 papers, 2 stamps, 1 punch, ribbon and glitter. Since I'm a bit late for last weeks challenge and it happens to meet this weeks challenge of a Christmas card with lots of techniques, I'll go with that, LOL!

To create the tag on the card, I swiped Tim Holtz Distress ink on a nonstick mat and spritzed it with water. I swiped my tag through the ink to create a soft watercolor effect. Its a bit hard to see in the photo, but I also sprayed on some Tattered Angels rose spray to give it a bit of glimmer. While it was still damp, I dragged my scissors along the edges of the tag to distress it. When it was dry I stamped the holly sprig image repeatedly on the tag. The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and embossed in white EP.

I used a set of stamps called Yuletide that I won from DarkRoom Door a few months ago. Wait till you see the tree image in this set. Gorgeous stamps!

Have a fabulous weekend!
