buried under ALOT of snow...

Actually we're dug out now, but WOW we got alot of snow this past week. I am so tired from shoveling snow!!!! I had finally just dug out my parking spot from the previous storm when Wednesday's blizzard hit. We lost power yesterday for a few hours and were all completely lost without power. No TV's. No video games. No internet. No laundry. oh wait, that was a perk, LOL!

So when I sat down to make a card for Embellish Magazine's color challenge (pink, brown and turq. ) I had snow on my mind. That ribbon is actually a darker turquoise color. I'm not sure why it looks so washed out in the photo. The snow was created with liquid applique that I puffed with the heat gun (after the power returned, LOL!)

supplies used: Stampendous (birch trees, sentiment, birds), Hero Arts (polka dots)

Instead of it opening like a normal card, the tree section is actually a card and the polka dot background is just a base. That sounds confusing. Here's a photo to clear that up...

And I have one more thing to share tonight, join me next Tuesday for a HOP(E) for HAITI with Skipping Stones Design!

a bit more info from Skipping Stones website..."On Tuesday, February 16th, 2010 we will launch a very special blog hop...During Hop(e) for Haiti we can all work together to help raise money. The money will be donated to the Red Cross to help those still struggling to get basic needs met after surviving the devastating January earthquake in Haiti.

On February 16th we will start our blog hop at Skipping Stones Design and visit the blogs of our Stamp Tramps Design Team and MANY specially invited guest bloggers. You are in for a treat with our special guests!

During the week following Feb 16th you will have a chance at winning fabulous prizes including pre-released stamp sets, as well as bidding on some of your favorite artists' work on our special Ebay auctions. (Links will be provided)
