hello August....

I can't believe its August already! Feels like just yesterday the kids were finishing up the school year. I've been looking forward to August because this month I get to play with the Mark's Finest Papers team as a guest designer! I couldn't wait to ink up some new stamps and get started today.

This first card uses a set to be released this month, Flourished Sea Creatures. Both myself and my fish-boy son were super excited to see this ocean life set! He's already completed a card for his dad. I used the SSC Clean and Simple challenge Polka dots as my inspiration for this card. I'm pretty sure seahorses are more brown and plain but I loved the idea of a row of colorful sealife!

This next card is another SSC challenge...Plaid Silhouettes. I had never heard of this technique before but its a fun one for those solid silhouette stamps that we have a hard time using. Basically you ink the stamp completely with the lightest color ink and then using the side of the ink pad add stripes. I used another soon-to-be released MFP set, Tweet Blessings. I hand cut the holly leaves and the berries are Stampendous Class A Peel Dot Sparklers.

Thats it for today, but I've been doing a ton of stamping and have a few secret projects in the works, so I'll have more to share in the coming days! Thanks for stopping by!

Love both the cards, but I have a soft spot for sea horses. We went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium last year and they just opened a whole area on sea horses. They are beautiful. If your son would like to see pictures of them, I could send some.
