Skipping Stones Designs sketch

Hi there! I'm so excited to be joining Skipping Stones Designs again this month as a guest DT for September! I love Heather's stamps!!! Their witty sentiments just crack me up! Today I'm sharing a card using last weeks sketch and Holy Carp set. By now you all know that having two fishermen in the house I love anything I can get my hands on that relates to fish. I love this set!!!

I turned the sketch on its side and used the waves to mimic the scallop design in the sketch. Instead of a strip for the sentiment I created a bobber. The bobber is super simple to create. Punch two 1 inch circles and cut on in half. Adhere it onto of the other circle. I hand cut a piece of cardstock to use as the hanger and punched a hole in it. Stamp your sentiment on it, shade it with some grey and you're done. You have a bobber embellishment!

My youngest loves it except that he said it didn't look scruffy enough to be dad, LOL! He wanted me to draw in some stubble for a beard. And he reminded me (again) that they don't have a boat yet, but its on his Christmas list to Santa. What 7 yr old asks for a Bass Boat for Christmas???

Be sure to stop by tomorrow because Skipping Stones has something special planned. Join us as we blog bounce for a Blogs 4 Boobies and raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation! I hope you'll come join us!

Love this card and your son's statement! When my youngest was that age, he wanted a bass boat as well! Your son is also right about the scruff. No fisherman looks that clean. Next time add stubble, a nasty, smelly, filthy fishing hat, and fishing boots covered with scales! I made the mistake ONCE of washing my husband's fishing hat...never again!
The bobber is the perfect accessory on this card!
