We are officially on Spring Break here! Oh yeah!!! I am looking forward to a more relaxed week. No rushing to get everyone ready for school. No track practices. No tests to study for. Just lots of rest....and stamping! We're still in the middle of catalog crunch time, so I don't have too many new projects I can share yet, so I'm pulling from my older files to share a project I made for a past catalog.
Stampendous Chris-Moose Greetings Clear Stamps has the coolest plaid stamp in the set. The moose is pretty darn cute too, but I loved finding different ways to use that plaid image. For this first project, I stamped the plaid on a DIY Bangles in light brown ink. This would be my guideslines as I woodburned. Next I brought out the woodburning tools and got to work burning in the design. After I had the lines burned fairly deeply into the bangle, I painted the lines with acrylic paint, wiping off the extra. I was going for a softer stained look. When the paint was dry I wiped antiquing gel on the entire piece. This is what gives that nice dark stained look on the inside and sides of the bangle. Finally all that was left to do was protect it with a coat of varnish.
For this next project I created a dinner setting, using the plaid stamp to create napkin rings and the Moose as a place setting card. The Moose stamp comes with individual sentiments you can stamp into the framed area, but I used the Stampendous Retro Alphabet Stamps to spell out my name. A few Class a'Peel stickers were added to bling out the wreath.
These napkin rings were SO easy to create! Simply stamp the plaid image on white cardstock. Color with your coloring medium of choice. I used Copics on these. Mat the colored plaid strip on red cardstock and adhere the edges together forming a loop. Switch the colors up and these would be super cute for the Easter table next weekend. And they were simple enough to make that this would be a great project for the younger kids in the house!

Geez, Wendy, you are so stinking clever. I didn't know that you had created more bangles than the one in the catalog for last year. Love the idea of napkin rings and name cards with that clear set. I'm sure your guests will be aMOOSEd. Sorry...had to go there before Lisa does.

How cool is that bangle!?!?! Awesome job taking stamping out of the cardstock "box" and into woodburning and jewelry making! The napkin rings are great too.
