Stampendous & Core-dinations Blog Hop

Welcome back for our final day of Stampendous Core'dination Week!

supplies used:
Stampendous (Punkin Kitty)
Core-dinations (Black Magic cardstock, Sanding Kit)
Scor-Buddy
Tsukineko (Memento Ink)
Copics
*sentiment done on computer

I was really wishing I had a spider web embossing folder to use on my card. I'm on a tight craft budget, so if its a seasonal tool that I can't use all the time, you won't find it in my craftroom. I pulled out my Scor-Buddy and decided to create my own spiderweb.

1. You will need a ruler or some clear straightedge to use as a guide. I found I had a difficult time, running my tool along the channels, when going on a diagonal unless I had a guide. I had a scrap of ClearScraps acrylic laying around from my last card and knew it would work perfectly. To make it easier to see on camera, I've inked the edge of the acrylic with a marker.

2. Begin at a corner and score diagonal lines on the back of the Core-dinations cardstock. Hold the acrylic guide down with one hand, position it so it lines up at a set channel, and move your paper for each line.

3. Once your main diagonal lines are done, its time to move on to the connecting webs. I kept the spacing a bit wonky so it looks more natural.

4. I penciled in lines, just so you can see my embossed lines. You do NOT need to pencil in lines, unless you find it easier to have a sketch to emboss.

5. When your web is done, flip it over and sand. At this point, you could still go back and add more embossed lines in if you wanted more to your web.

What do you think? Pretty cool, huh?

Are you ready to see what the other designers have crafted up for you today? Be sure to leave some love on everyone's blog for a chance to win prizes and goodies!

Skipping Stones Sketch

Welcome back for another Skipping Stones Design Tuesday Sketch challenge! Today I used both Heartfelt 1 and 2 to create my card.

I stamped the bird image in ColorBox Truffle Mix'd Media Inx and then embossed it in clear EP. To keep the center white when I inked it up with the Distress Inks, I added a layer of Smooch Illuminate. It gives it a coating which will resist the ink and also add a bit of shimmer. When it was dry I inked up the image with Broken China, Faded Jeans and Peeled Paint Distress Inks. Adhere the image to your card.

To create the branch, I cut a strip of cardstock somewhat in the bend/shape of the branch, damped it with water and rolled/distress it. When it was dry, I glued it to the card. I hand cut leaves and glued them on to the branches.

Tip: Use your Scor-Buddy to partially score the leaves. This will make it easier to shape the tiny leaves.

Skipping Stones Designs SSD121

Welcome back for another Skipping Stones Design Tuesday Sketch! This is the last one of the month and its time to say good bye to our fabulous guest designers and also a huge thanks to our sponsor ScorBuddy!

supplies used: Skipping Stones Beautiful Botanicals, ScorBuddy, ColorBox Beach Ball Petal Point, embroidery floss

I stamped the image in Citrine and Razzleberry Colorbox Pigment inks. Next I smushed a bit of Surf Colorbox pigment ink onto a craft mat and added a spritz of water and GingerAle Smooch to dilute it. Using a blending tool, I picked up some of the watered down ink and added it to paper, leaving the center lighter/untouched.

To mimic the boxes in the sketch, I added a row of vertical score marks. Using the ScorBuddy, I scored every 1/4 inch vertically and then horizontally twice on the top and once on the bottom. To finish it off I added embroidery floss between the top lines.

Hello, friends! Today Skipping Stones Design is excited to be releasing another BEAUTIFUL stamp set! It is called Beautiful Botanicals and it is a must have!!! And, even better, Skipping Stones has joined up with the fabulous Scor-Pal team for an amazing blog hop! The hop will begins at the Scor-Pal blog and will finish off at the Skipping Stones blog! If you came from Kandi's blog you are already on track! If no, you may want to hop on back to Scor-Pal to join in on ALL the fun!

Don't forget to leave comments! Skipping Stones Design will be giving away one stamp set to a lucky winner and Scor-Pal is giving away a Scor-Buddy, so there is lots to win!

I stamped the leaf image in Versamark and embossed it in white EP. Next I added a wash of green watercolors to the paper, wiping the extra off the embossed image.

To create the rosette, I cut a strip of paper 1 inch wide using the wavy border option on my trimmer. Using the Scor-Buddy I scored it every 1/4 inch all the way down the length of the strip. Fold it in a valley/mountain fold. Glue the ends together. Carefully press the shape together forming a rosette. Adhere to a piece of scrap paper with hot glue.

The Butterfly was colored with copics, covered in wet adhesive and coated with glitter.

Now it's YOUR turn! Join in the sketch challenge this week by creating a card using the featured sketch and link up to the Skipping Stones site for your chance to win FREE stamps! You don't have to use Skipping Stones Stamps, but we love when you do! Do you have a Scor-Pal or Scor-Buddy? We would love to see you rocking those, too!!!
