Clear Scraps May Tag...

Today I'm sharing  my Clear Scraps tag for May! This festive tag celebrates Graduation time for all the new school graduates!

Instructions:
1. Remove protective film off one side of tag. Ink stamp with permanent ink and stamp on tag. When working with large background stamps, it is easier to ink the stamp and place the tag onto the inked stamp.

2. Remove film from the other side of the tag and color the stamped image with alcohol markers. Do not color on the same side as the stamped surface because the alcohol markers will react with the ink and blur.

3. To make the image "pop", paint white acrylic paint over the areas colored with markers. Allow to dry.

4. Stamp sentiment and images on cardstock. Trim to fit on tag. Adhere with Zip Dry. Allow to dry.

5. Die cut stars from cardstock. Adhere to tag with foam adhesive.

Imagine Crafts and Stampendous Week

What a fun week it has been playing with Imagine Crafts  Amplify and Radiant Inks and the new Stampendous stamp release! For my card today I used a Dreamweaver stencil to spread the Black Amplify through. I didn't worry about it being perfect. I was going for a distressed effect. Next I heated it and watched it puff! LOVE that step! Finally I spritzed it with Copper and Black Shimmer Inks.
I finished the card off with an image from Andy Skinner's new Shabby Chic set. I didn't have a diecut that would fit it perfectly so I created one use the ticket and oval dies in the Build A Pop UP Die Set.

We have prizes! Three lucky commenters will receive a prize package that includes:
  • 1 Radiant Neon Ink Pad and Ink Refill
  • 1 Color Fragments Jar
  • a Creative Palette Rectangles Set

See Official Contest Rules for details.

Imagine Crafts and Stampendous

This week the Stampendous team is pairing up with Imagine Crafts to bring you oodles of inspiration featuring the NEW release stamps and Amplify ink. This stuff is FUN! It puffs when you heat it giving lots of texture to your projects!

I masked off the front of a card and then using a knife spread yellow and green Amplify on the front mixing a bit as I went. Next I heated it up with the heat gun and watched the fun begin.

This cute fella is from the Stampendous Jungle Friends Cling set. I colored him with Spectrum Noir markers and added a bit of Dreamweavers Monstera die cut leaves.

May your birthday be bright...

Today's card features a sentiment from the Crafters Companion Spring Crafters Inpsiration Magazine Issue 6. These magazines are  a fantastic value! They are packed with goodies! This issue comes with a stamp set of sentiments, embossing folder, flower die, flower template and a CD/DVD!

I thought this sentiment would be perfect paired with Sheena's Light Post stamp!

The background was created with Distress Inks and the Burst stencil. After inking the card, I spritzed it with water. I also laid the stencil back down and took a wet baby wipe to the background, removing some of the ink in a burst pattern.

Supplies Used:
Sheena Individual Stamp- Light Post
Crafters Inspiration- Spring Issue 6 (sentiment stamp set)
Decorative Stencil by Sheena- Burst
White embossing powder

Water Marbling on Clear Scrap Acrylic

I have been seeing so many tutorials lately on Pinterest for nails. The only problem is I don't have long nails to play with, so I started thinking why not use Clear Scraps acrylic. Today we're going to play with water marbling. Because the nail polish doesn't mix with water, it will float on the surface of the water.

You're going to need: a variety of nail polish colors, Clear Scraps acrylic pieces, toothpick or bamboo skewer and a container of water (not pictured).

The first thing you will need to do is fill a container you don't mind throwing away with water. You may have to experiment with water temperature. I used room temperature water.

Drop your nail polish in the container of water. The nail polish will hit the water and spread out. You can alternate colors, dropping the next drop within the last. I played around with adding drops of color through out the water surface. If you'd like a marble look, take the toothpick and drag it through the polish. Be careful when lifting the toothpick out of the water that you don't remove all the nail polish with it.

Remove the protective coating off your Clear Scrap acrylic piece. Be sure to leave the coating on the one side to prevent the nail polish from coating both sides. Carefully dip the acrylic into the water, submerging it. The nail polish will cling to the acrylic piece. Before you pull the acrylic piece out of the water, take your bamboo skewer and drag it through the water picking up all the extra nail polish. Now pull your acrylic piece out of the water. Shake off extra water and allow to dry.

I used a bit too much nail polish when doing this tag and you can see how it clumped on the tag. No worries because I will be flipping the tag over to use on a project. The clumps will not be seen.

Here is another tag I created using just white and red nail polish. It reminds me of candy!

And here is the finished tag! I decorated one of the tags with Stampendous images, bling and tulle.

Let it Snow...

Today's project features Clear Scraps and Stampendous to create a winter decor piece.

3. Lightly brush on Beacon's Fast Finish Decopage adhesive approximately 1 inch in from the edge. While the Fast Finish is still wet, sprinkle Stampendous glitter on. Tap off the extra glitter.
4. Adhere stickers for title.

5. Stamp Stampendous Snowfall Pair image in Versamark on vellum. Heat emboss with white embossing powder. Color on the back of the vellum with alcohol markers. Adhere vellum to acrylic sheet.

6. Embellish with vellum die cut snowflakes and tulle bow.
7. Punch two holes at the top of the blank acrylic sheet and hang with ribbon.

Say Cheese

Today's layout features Clear Scraps XL Deco Shape....

I stamped the XL Deco Shape with a background stamp repeatedly in white StazOn ink. One thing that I like to do is leave the protective film on the back. It gives the layout a slight frosted effect.

The Expression was outlined with a White Zig paint pen.
