Clear Scraps May Tag...

Today I'm sharing  my Clear Scraps tag for May! This festive tag celebrates Graduation time for all the new school graduates!

Instructions:
1. Remove protective film off one side of tag. Ink stamp with permanent ink and stamp on tag. When working with large background stamps, it is easier to ink the stamp and place the tag onto the inked stamp.

2. Remove film from the other side of the tag and color the stamped image with alcohol markers. Do not color on the same side as the stamped surface because the alcohol markers will react with the ink and blur.

3. To make the image "pop", paint white acrylic paint over the areas colored with markers. Allow to dry.

4. Stamp sentiment and images on cardstock. Trim to fit on tag. Adhere with Zip Dry. Allow to dry.

5. Die cut stars from cardstock. Adhere to tag with foam adhesive.

Holiday

Today I'm sharing a layout I created for Clear Scrap featuring the new chipboard words. I love working with the chipboard! There is SO much you can do to it! For this project, I painted the word with gesso first and then gave it a coat of gold glitter paint.

For the XL Deco acrylic shape, I sanded the back first. On the front I turned the Stripe Mascil on a  diagonal and added Dreamweavers translucent embossing paste. Its not big enough to cover the shape at once, so after I did part I allowed it to dry over night, positioned the mascil back on the remaining acrylic shape and added the embossing paste to the rest of the acrylic. This is one of my favorite Mascils! Not only can you create stripes with it, but you could spin it 90° after stenciling, add another color and create a plaid effect.

The scallop piece under the title was cut off from the Sassy Mixable Album. I cut if off years ago because I needed the other part of the page for a project. This piece has been sitting in my stash waiting for just the right project. I sanded both sides of the acrylic to give it a frosted effect.

Supplies Used:
Clear Scrap (XL Deco Shape, Holiday Chipboard Word, Stripe MascilSassy Mixable Album)
Stampendous Dreamweavers Translucent Embossing Paste
Beacon Adhesive

Trick or Treat...

Today' s layout features Clear Scraps new 12 inch Pumpkin Faces Mascil, Trick Or Treat Expressions amd Stampendous Create Fall stamp set!

I airbrushed the Pumpkin Faces Mascil using Spectrum Noir and the Ebrush  to create the background for my layout.

To create the Trick or Treat title, I airbrushed the front of the acrylic with Spectrum Noir IG7, True Black and CT4. I spritzed a piece of burlap and pressed it across the inked acrylic to lift off some of the ink and create a distressed effect. I inked the back of the acrylic with yellow marker and painted it with white paint.

Eleven years...

Today's layout is one I created for Clear Scrap featuring the 12 x 12 Blank Acrylic Sheets and 12 inch Dragonfly Mascil.

I spread Dreamweavers embossing paste through the Dragonfly Mascil and after removing the Mascil, immediately sprinkled fine glitter on it while the paste was still wet. After it was dry, I gave it I brushed off some of the glitter. It wasn't the intended effect, but because I took SO long working my way through the colors of glitter during application, some of the edges of the paste dried and didn't provide a good adhesion of glitter. It wasn't my intention but I LOVE the distressed effect and will do it again. Sometimes those mistakes turn into the perfect touches!

On the back of the layout I used Nathalie Kalbach's Stampendous sets.. Mish Mash and Wired

Directions:
1. Apply embossing paste to the front of the Blank Acrylic Sheet using the Dragonfly Mascil as a stencil.
2. While the paste was still wet, I sprinkled glitter over the paste alternating colors. Tap off the extra glitter and allow paste to dry.
3. Apply glue dots to acrylic sheet. Sprinkle with glitter. Brush off extra glitter.
4. On the back side of acrylic stamp images in white StazOn.
5. Mat photo with colored vellum and adhere to acrylic sheet.
5. Embellish layout.

Clear Scrap Acrylic Box

Today I'm sharing a project using one of the new Clear Scraps acrylic boxes that you decorate and assemble yourself.

The sheet music design was heat embossed on the acrylic with gold, being careful not to overheat the acrylic.

I airbrushed the Feather Mixer with alcohol markers. Next I mixed gold mica powder into Beacon's Fast Finish and splattered it on the other side of the feather. Allow to dry.

Finally assemble the box, embellish with washi tape, tag and feather.

Supplies Used:
Stampendous (Musical Motif stamps, Gold embossing powder)
Beacon (527, Fast Finish)
May Arts ribbon
Pink Paislee (Snow Village Ephemera
Tsukineko (Versamark)
SEI Gold Washi tape
Spectrum Noir Markers
Mica Powders

Clear Scrap and Clearsnap

Clear Scrap and Clearsnap are teaming up this week! I had a blast experimenting with the Clearsnap SurfaceZ inks and trying to find new ways to use them!

CS_CS_layout3_wprice

The SurfaceZ inks are a multi-surface ink and can be used on practically anything. One of my favorite ways to use them was to water them down with either water or alcohol and use them as paint. Be sure to work on a non stick craft mat because when they dry they are permanent.

CS_CS_layout1_wprice

I prepped my layout by spraying white primer spray paint on the left side of the Clear Scrap XL Deco Shape. This would give the SurfaceZ "wash" something to stick to and allow the colors to pop.

CS_CS_layout2_wprice

After painting on the "wash" I allowed it to sit for approximately 30 seconds and then wiped it off. Because it was diluted, it came off the untreated acrylic and left a beautiful blue hue on the spray painted area.

CS_CS_layout5_wprice

While I was playing with washes, I thought it would be fun to create some watercolor inspired background paper with the inks. When mixed with alcohol and dripped on the cardstock, the alcohol removed some of the previous wash and  created a water drop effect.
CS_CS_layout4_wprice

When the cardstock was dry, I stamped on the cardstock with the ink.

Valentines Day Clear Scrap Layout...

Today's layout is one I created for Clear Scraps featuring Clear Scraps XL Dots and 12 inch Spiral Mascil. It will make a great Valentines Day decoration and I can tuck it away in an album after the holidays.

I sprayed Rust-o-leum Frosted Glass on the XL Dot using the Spiral Mascil as a stencil. I am loving this stuff! The Frosted Glass gives it a very subtle etched effect.

I paper pieced the Stampendous Timeless Rose Blossom with Echo Park pattern paper. The butterfly was diecut from cork using the Lovely Garden Stampendous Die set.

Clear Scraps NEW Build It Your Way 12 x 12 Binder

Have you seen the new 12 x 12 Clear Scrap Build It Your Way Binders yet?! As a 12 x 12 scrapbooker, I am LOVING these!!!

I kept the design simple to show off the see through effect of the acrylic. Diecut a LOT of circles from pattern paper in an assortment of sizes and simply adhere them to the front of the binder with Zip Dry.  This is a great project for using up all those scraps of pattern paper we hoard.  I did not decorate the spine of the album but you definitely could.

This would be a great project to do with your kids!

Lots of new product from Clear Scraps! Be sure to head on over to the store and check it out....NEW Product Section

Suitcase Mini Album

I'm back to share a suitcase mini album that I made for Clear Scraps. My husband went away on a motorcycle trip to New York last summer. Clear Scrap's Chipboard Travel Brag Bag was perfect for this project!

I used lots of inks and stamps to distress the album. One of my favorite ways to add a look of texture is my inking through a piece of dry wall mesh.

I had to laugh when my husband shared his photos with me. I had asked him to take lots of photos. Out of the ((maybe)) ten photos he took, 80 % of them are of his bike. LOL!

Head on over to ClearScraps for more photos and a tutorial.

Supplies Used:
•Stampendous stamps (CRN252 Wonder Lost, Air Travel, Luggage Labels, Travel Words, Vintage Lowercase Alphabet and Baggage Claim)
Quick Quotes Pattern Paper
•Ranger Inks
Beacon Adhesive (Zip Dry, Fast Finish)
•washi tape

Quick Quotes and Want2Scrap Inspiration Week...

Quick Quotes and Want2Scrap are teaming up to bring you lots of fabulous projects!

I was excited to open up my package and see that I would be working with the Corrugated Waterfall Album! I love the corrugated album, but I wanted to see if I could mix it up a bit. As I was laying out my pages, I realized that if I flipped two of the pages, it would work as a gated album. All that I had to do was punch holes on the back panel on the opposite side. I lined it up with one of the other pages and marked  where to punch the holes.

I covered the cover with Quick Quotes pattern paper and added a bit of stamping with Powder Puff inks. I added one of the Want2Scrap Rhinestone Flourishes and a few handmade flowers. A chipboard Want2Scrap "Family" embellishment completed the cover.

Here's a closeup of the front cover...

I covered the untextured side of the pages with Quick Quotes pattern papers.

I spread gesso randomly on the corrugated side. When it was dry, I dabbed Powder Puff ink on the gesso and spread it with a damp paint brush.

For the back cover, I painted a canvas with white paint. After it dried, I swiped some Powder Puff inks randomly over the canvas and quickly spread the color with a damp brush. It gives just a faint hint of color to the canvas. I added a bit of stamping to the canvas.

And here is the finished album opened up...
