Stampendous Saturday with Blog Candy

And the countdown is ON! Actually my youngest has been counting down the days till Christmas all month, but with a week to go I'm definitely starting to feel the pressure. (breathe in, breathe out) For today's Stampendous Saturday card, I reached for one of their stunning seasonal sets...Jumbo Snowflakes. I believe this one is no longer available through Stampendous, but you can still find it at Amazon, Simon Says Stamps and local scrapbook stores.

I used Stampendous Crystal Embossing Powder to give it some sparkle. This is one of my favorite EPs. It adds a subtle glittery sparkle without the mess of glitter.

Good morning and happy Saturday! Its time for another Stampendous Saturday! Summer is wrapping up and I have one more chance at winning some goodies from Stampendous. Before I get to the project and prize, how about we announce last weeks winner.....

Today's project is another that I made for CHA. If you haven't tried stamping into Deep Impression Embossing Powder yet, you HAVE to try it! Fun technique! 

Supplies Used:

• Stampendous Cling Saint Nick
• Stampendous Deep Impression Embossing Powder
• Stampendous Shabby White Embossing Powder
• Versamark
• chipboard tag
• acrylic paint
• Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils
• Archival JetBlack ink
• twine

Instructions:

1. Paint chipboard tag with acrylic paint and watercolor pencils. 
2. Coat entire surface on tag with Versamark and cover with Deep Impression Embossing Powder. Heat with heat gun until melted. Repeat until you have 4-6 layers of Deep Impression Embossing Powder on the tag. optional: sprinkle a bit of Shabby White Embossing Powder into the last layer of Embossing Powder. You can also sprinkle in glitter or mica powders at this point. 
3. Ink up the Cling Saint Nick stamp with black ink. Reheat tag. While the Deep Impression Embossing Powder is still melted, press stamp down into the embossing powder. Let sit for approximately 15-30 seconds. 
4. Carefully lift stamp from tag leaving an impression of the stamp into the Deep Impression Embossing Powder. 
5. Embellish with ribbon/twine.

Hi everyone! Welcome back to another Stampendous Saturday Blog Candy Giveaway! This week I'm giving away the adorable Halloween set I used in today's card.... Cling Batty Owls Set.

Supplies Used:

• stamps: Stampendous Cling Batty Owls Set
• pattern paper & tag: Canvas Corp
• coloring medium: Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils
• spritz: Tsukineko Sheer Shimmerz

Instructions:

1. Stamp image on watercolor paper and color with watercolor pencils. 
2. Adhere pattern paper and image to cardfront. Spritz with Shimmerz.
3. Stamp sentiment on tag. Adhere to cardfront.

Stampendous Santa Canvas & Blog Candy....

Hi everyone! Welcome back to another Stampendous Saturday. First thing, lets get to last weeks winner! I had my son random.zak pick a number. Lucky #7...Kathy Martin!!!  I'll be in touch to get your address so I can get these stamps off to you!

I love this weeks project that I'm sharing. It is a project that I created for Stampendous for CHA/catalog using one of the new Stampendous cling stamps Believe Santa and a Canvas Corp burlap canvas. 

I stamped the images on Kraft colored tissue paper in Archival Ink. Next I carefully colored the images in with Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils. Next I covered the image with GlazeOn by Tsukineko. This would prevent the watercolors from bleeding out in the final step. Although the Intense watercolors are permanent after they've dried, the red tends to bleed a bit. I didn't want to take any chances. The final step was to adhere the tissue paper to the canvas with Matte Mod Podge. 

I borrowed this photo off the Stampendous site because you can really see the see-thru effect of the tissue paper in this photo. When you adhere the tissue paper to the burlap with Mod Podge the burlap peeks through the tissue paper. Fun effect!

Its Good to Be Queen...

ok, onto the new stamps! April's Monthly Mix is called Its Good to Be Queen. Its filled with flowers, tiaras, a darling bicycle, sheet music (squeal!) mom sentiments and even polka dots....lots of good stuff for making mothers day card. I have been wanting a sheet music stamp for awhile now, so that was the first one I inked up when they arrived. I stamped the image multiple times. The sentiment was stamped on an old 7Gypsies label.

I had a request for the link to the rose tutorial I posted awhile back, so here it is... LOLLYCHOPS. You gotta check out her blog while you're there...lots of eye candy!

I cut these flowers from a handmade like paper. Can't really say it was handmade because it came from Joann Fabrics awhile ago, but it has a soft textured quality that is just perfect for making these roses. I cut the flowers, rolled them, glued them and then proceeded to roll the edges down. I stuck them straight down in a Versamark ink pad and sprinkled crystal EP on them. I hand cut the leaves and drew the veins in with a stylus.

This next card uses one of the solid flower stamps as a background. The sentiment is a fuzzy Making Memories sticker. To create the cardbase I simply cut two scallop circles from black cardstock, horizontally scored one an inch down and adhered the other to it.

Birthday Blog Candy

I am so excited to have had a chance to play with Adela's newest template Haute Tote. If you have SCAL and a personal cutting system you can use the SVG file to have the machine cut your pieces. No SCAL, no problem. Just use the PDF file and cut them yourself. Thanks Adela for letting me play along!!!!

I made some more of those rolled roses out of felt, cotten and paper. The butterfly is from the Wings on Things (small) set that you could win. I glued him onto a tiny strip of transparency so it looks like he's hovering over the flowers.

flowers and blog candy...

Before I share my card for today, I have to let you know about the awesome blog candy that my fellow Papercraft Planet Super Nova, Jen Tapler, is offering to celebrate her Blogoverary. There's over $250 worth of blog candy up for grabs to one lucky winner!!! How can you participate? Today's card is another card that I made using the Fun to Be Floral set from Lizzie Anne Designs. I tried to keep the design simple, by stamping the floral design and creating flower tops with them. I stitched in the stems and leaf with embroidery floss.
