So You Think You Can Stamp round 3

Yay! I made it to round 3 of So You Think You Can Stamp! Thank you so much for voting! This week will work the same way as the past rounds and your vote will determine the 4 that advance on to the next round. Please go vote!

This weeks challenge was to stamp on fabric, ribbon or trim. This was probably the most difficult challenge for me so far because I don't use alot of ribbons and material in my layouts. I had a hard time figure out a way to incorporate fabric into the layout and still stay true to my style. I think I kinda did it. I just realized I used kraft cardstock for the third week in a row. What can I say, I'm addicted to the stuff, LOL!

I played around ALOT this weekend, trying different ways of stamping on ribbon/fabric. I embossed velvet with stamps. I tried stamping and coloring in images with inks, chalks, and watercolors. I have a pile of "rejects" sitting on my desk just waiting to be made into cards. I ended up keeping it simple, by inking up a solid leaf image in lime green, rocking the edges in aqua and stamping on white cotton. I cut all my leaves out, leaving a bit of white edge around the image. Next I had to add in the stitched vines down the page. I kept the lines really loose. I then tacked down the leaves with a bit of adhesive and started stitching around the edges. When all my leaves were stitched down I went back and roughed by the edges with my finger. I wanted it to have that shabby, natural look.

It was looking a bit too plain, so I decided it needed flowers. I stamped the flowers on the white cotton, cut them out leaving plenty of extra material around the image. Next I laid the stamped image over top of a Heidi Swapp brad and pinched the excess material around the brad prongs. I took a 2 inch piece of wire, wrapped it tight and cut off the extra wire and fabric. I bend the prongs down and adhered them to the page with glue dots. (I'll try to create a tutorial this week with this technique)

The butterfly is another one similar to those I made in the past by stamping the image twice. Cut out the inside details on the wings and lay the black image on top of the yellow cardstock

supply list:
stamps: Autumn Leaves, Inkadinkdo
ink: Colorbox
cardstock: Prism, Bazzill
die cutting: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots
stickers: Doodlebug

Now what are you waiting for... Go Vote!!!

I missed out on the voting and I'm mad/sad that I did because you deserved to be in Round 4. Your layout was my favorite.

You were the Scrapbook Page of the Week at Card of the Week.com. You can see the original post here.

I did use a picture from your post, with links back to the site and the original post. I hope that is OK. Please feel free to email me if you need me to change anything.

I also have an “I was featured” on badge for you if you want it :D

Thanks again for sharing!
