a bit of coloring fun...

I've been drooling over Copics for awhile now but when I started adding up all the basic colors that I wanted I realized that the little bit of Christmas money I had burning a whole in my pocket wasn't going to cover it. Add in the fact that I couldn't find any inks that would work with the Copics locally and I wasn't even sure I would like the markers, I started looking for other options. I saw some excellent tutorials on GinaK & Hero Arts blog's on the Koh-i-door & Prismacolor pencils. The Koh-i-door woodless pencils had gorgeous rich colors, were economical and they would work with the supplies I already had on hand. I was able to pick up a set of 24 for under $9 with a coupon at my local craft store. So bear with me, because you might be seeing alot of them in the coming weeks.

Todays card is using the kids in the Lizzie Anne Designs School Days set. I used the Koh-i-door pencils on them and blended the colors with baby oil. The faces were watercolored because there is no skin tones in the set. I'm going to have to look into adding some Prismacolor pencils to my collection to fill out the colors.

supplies used:
pattern paper: Cosmo Cricket
ribbon: American Craft
button: Autumn Leaves
other: Koh-i-door pencils

Be sure to stop back in a few days when I share another card using a different way to blend the pencils. Have a great Friday!!!

Cute card! How do you blend with the baby oil? Does that work on any watercolour type coloured pencil - or does it have to be a certain type of coloured pencil?

What a cute card! Loev your coloring!!! I agree with you about pencils, they live much longer than markers! And cheaper too! Love the coupons!!!
