spa getaway

No, not me althought I wish. I was referring to this stamp that I used for this weekends card. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I didn't get too much stamping time in but I do have a card to share with you. Its twofer...

1. Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #60-I loved this sketch so much I had to give it a try. I just realized that I kinda messed up that middle square piece by carrying it all the way to the edges. oops! For a chance to win some free Tiny Twinkle, be sure to upload your card to Paper Craft Planet using the tag TECC60 and then add the link to Mr Linky on Taylor's blog.

1. Color Throwdown #34-Not Quite Navy, Kiwi Kiss, and Blush Blossom. Boy, did I have some trouble with this color combo! I rarely use navy and coupled with blush....never. But after I got over my fear of combining those colors, I actually kinda like it. See this is what I love about the challenges, it gets you to break out of your happy routine and try something different.

To create the flower centers, I cut 1.5 inch pieces of ribbon and wrapped it over top of a office supply brad. Pinching the ends, I wrapped a piece of floss around, tying it tight. I enlarged the hole in the Prima flower and slipped the end of my brad through the hole. The end of the ribbon then became a leaf behind the Prima flower.

supplies used:
stamps: Rubber Romance
flower: Prima
ribbon: PaperTrey
