Paper Smooches Guest Designer

Today is my last post as Paper Smooches Guest Designer for January. Thank you so much to Kim and Paper Smooches for the amazing opportunity!!!

For this first card, I did a lot of masking with the llama stamp in Courteous Cuties to create this cute scene. The bow tie is from Chilly Chums. I couldn't stop singing the llama song when I created this, LOL!

You Love Fishing...

Hey everyone! I'm back with two more samples for Paper Smooches! As soon as I saw the fish in the Courteous Cuties stamp set I knew a layout would be in my future! During the fall, my son and I would often go out fishing before school started and I had the perfect photo of one of his catches!

Supplies Used: Paper Smooches (Courteous Cuties, Courteous Cuties Die Set, For You Tag Die set, Happy Birthday Die Set, You Are Loved Die Set,  Ocean Scene Die Set, Paw Print Die Set), Copics, Spectrum Noir, Tsukineko Memento Ink, Beacon Adhesive

I stamped the fish repeatedly on the cardstock to create the school of fish. I kept the coloring simple, but simply adding dots of blues/grey for the background. I added two fish to twine to look like caught fish.

The sentiment "you're awesome" actually comes from the "you're turtley awesome" stamp in the Courteous Cuties set. I did a bit of stamp surgery on it. Don't be afraid to cut your stamps. You can easily position them back together if you want.

The tag die in For You Die Set created the background of tags for the photo. To create some tags a bit longer, I used a partial die cutting technique. I moved my tag off the edge of my Big Shot Plates so it didn't cut through. Next I inched the die down the paper to extend the tag length and cut it the rest of the way.

To create the bottom of the lake, I die cut a LOT of rocks with the Ocean Scene Die Set from cardstock and cork. And then I painstakingly glued each one down to make it look random and natural.

I cut the letter "d" off the loved die cut from You Are Loved and got rid of the "are" to create the title "you love fishing".

I also die cut the word "happy" from Happy Birthday 2 Die Cut Set and used it as an embellishment.

I think I used every single new January product on this layout with the exception of the Courteous Cuties 2 sentiment set!

For my next project, but created a sign for the bear to hold with the sentiment "Free Bear Hugs" in place of the flower that was in his hand. I die cut hearts using the Paw Prints Die Set. I added details using the Stitched Die Set.

Supplies Used: Paper Smooches (Courteous Cuties, Courteous Cuties 2, Paw Prints Die Set) Tsukineko Memento Ink, Copics, Spectrum Noir, Beacon Zip Dry Adhesive

Paper Smooches Guest Designer

I am super SUPER excited to be the guest designer this month for Paper Smooches! I LOVE their stuff!

Their new releases are adorable. Ok, all their stuff is ALWAYS adorable but did you see the fish in Courteous Cuties?! With a kid that grew up fishing, I'm all about the fish stamps!

supplies used: Paper Smooches Courteous Cuties, Courteous Cuties 2,  Courteous Cuties Icon Dies, Copics, Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Marker, Memento Ink

I stamped it all over the card and then stamped some extra, die cut him with the matching die set. I popped these up on foam tape to add some dimension to the card. To create the background I simply added dots of different sizes and colors with my copics. The sentiment is from Courteous Cuties 2 set. This set has so many cute sentiments that go with the animals in the Courteous Cuties stamp set.

supplies used: Paper Smooches Courteous Cuties, Ocean Scene, Courteous Cuties Icon Dies, Doodlebug stickers, Copics, Memento ink
Next up is one of my favorite cards. Probably because its a bit out of the box, LOL! As I was die cutting lots of elements from the Ocean Scene die cut set, I couldn't help but picture the lamb from Courteous Cuties with a bunch of rocks. Ewe Rock! I crack myself up sometimes, LOL!

If you haven't checked out this months Paper Smooches release...go check it out! Keep an eye on the Paper Smooches site tomorrow for a Flash Sale in honor of National Hobby Month!

Happy Holidays to You...

Well we've seen our first Christmas commercial so that must mean it's time to start making Christmas cards!

I LOVE using acrylic in my cards. Using a piece of acrylic as a "peek through" on the front of the cards is a fun surprise for the recipient! They might look hard, but they're surprisingly easy.

You'll need: a card base, pattern paper cut to fit inside the card, a piece of acrylic trimmed approximately half the card height, and cute stuff to decorate the card with!

Directions:
1. Lay Mascil on acrylic and spread on embossing paste. Lift mascil and sprinkle on glitter while the paste is wet. Allow to dry.
2. Adhere your pattern paper to the inside of your card.
3. Lay your scrap of acrylic on your card front and mark 1/2 inch down from the top of the acrylic. When you trim away the front this will give you a border to adhere your acrylic to.
4. Trim your card front at the line you marked.
5. Adhere acrylic in place with Zip Dry. Adhere strips of pattern paper to the top and the bottom of the card.
6. Embellish with stickers, stamped image, and twine.

Supplies Used: Clear Scraps (12 x 12 acrylic blank sheets, Snowflake Mascil), Crafters Companion (Just For You), SEI (Chalet paper and sticker), The Twinery, Stampendous (Glitter), Dreamweavers (Translucent paste), Beacon (Zip Dry), markers and colored pencil

Markers Used: Spectra Noir (CR8), Copics (C1, C3, C7, YG23, YG67, blender), Blick Art (Antique White)

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
•Crafters Companion- Christmas cards

There She Goes- Pugalicious

We love our animal stamps here at There She Goes, and we love it even more when you can dress up your animals for the holidays!! Who doesn’t like putting antlers on a pug, anyway?!

You know how sometimes when you see a stamp set you instantly get an idea in your head? As soon as I saw the two different style pug heads, I thought TIC TAC TOE!

I had asked DH and his buddies months ago to save beer caps for me to create resin jewelry with. yeah, that project didn't exactly happen, but they came in handy for tic tac toe pieces. You could also put magnets on the back and play tic tac toe on the fridge.

Pugalicious is a 4x6 set that includes a total of 25 stamps and will sell for $15.00.

Would you like to win the new Pugalicious stamp set?
